sucks to be right

Writing on the other side of an 11-hour migraine. So I was right. The cold, the anxiety and depression, the foul mood, all prodrome.

This is unfortunate.

It's also 3 migraine attacks in the past week, 4 in the past 2 weeks. I feel like not much has really changed in that timeframe. Some medication changes, but none with migraine as a side effect and no contraindications. In fact one is a beta blocker, prescribed for low blood pressure and as migraine prophylaxis.

So now I'm looking at a device that costs $600, albeit with a 90-day guarantee, that claims to help reduce migraine over time and also during attacks.

Outside of that, the recent Technology Connections video about renewable energy has really made me want to replace my Subaru with something electric. Ideally, a Rivian R3X, but who knows when that will start shipping. Something to think about, probably in a few months anyway. The line that stuck with me was something so obvious - when you burn a gallon of gasoline, you've traveled some amount, but it's gone after that. Extracting one-time (non-renewable!) resources and burning them is just wildly inefficient. But it's what we're so used to.

Probably the other hangup would be needing to wire a 240V connection into the garage. The breaker panel is on the other side, so it would not be complicated, but last time we had an electrician come by for something they wanted to basically replace the entire panel, test every single outlet, and possibly re-wire some things and that was just like, no thank you. I don't want to wire it myself, and I don't want it to be a whole thing. But I also don't think, even with the limited amount I drive, that a 20A 110V circuit will meet my needs either.

A problem for another day.
